ENERGY PAYMENT DUE

Automatic meters have been installed at all Douglas Electric's services. The meters will be read by Douglas Electric on the 1st of each month and a Statement of Electric Bill will be mailed for each service. Payment will be due in the Douglas Electric office on the 18th day of the month. On the 19th day of the month, a penalty of $5.00 or 1% of the bill whichever is larger will be added to the bill.

Basin Scholarship

Douglas Electric is accepting applications for 2024 Scholarship.

Douglas Electric in conjunction with Basin Electric Power Cooperative is offering a $1,000 college scholarship to a student whose parents are members of Douglas Electric.

The scholarship program recognizes and encourages the academic achievements of students in its region. It also serves as an investment in the economic future of rural areas.

Applicants for the scholarship must be a U.S. citizen and a dependent of a Douglas Electric member. Applicants also must be students enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time graduate or undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school.

The scholarship recipients are chosen based on a combination of SAT/ACT scores, overall grade point average, work experience, participation in school and community activities, a personal statement of career goals, applicant appraisal by a third party and an essay.

Applications have been sent to the Guidance Counselors at the local schools and can also be received at the office of Douglas Electric. Applications must be returned to Douglas Electric February 10, 2024.
